Pam and John Hults home and studios are located in southern Lancaster County, PA, influencing their interest in Pennsylvania German art work and antiques. Pam has explored the art forms of German Scherenschnitte and Fraktur for thirty years. This journey brought her to a "hybrid" of the two styles that she continues today. The imagery is derived from historic research and some purely whimsical creations. Pam utilizes many of the tools used for centuries in this art form, such as hand dipped pen and ink, rag paper and custom blended water colors.

In 2006, Pam's husband John joined Pam and started "Praying Mantis Folk Art Studio". John constructs the frames and also paints, grains and assembles the art for sale. John has also constructed wall cabinets, benches, boxes and turned vessels that are painted, grained and many times have one of Pam's paper cuttings applied.
